HOUSING SERVICES:

The Employment and Housing Unit is committed to working with members on obtaining and maintaining safe, decent, and affordable housing, with support services provided by members and staff members in the unit.  We do this in a variety of ways:

  • Filling out housing applications, appealing housing denials, and going to housing appointments with members

  • Providing listings of low cost moving companies in the area who can assist members

  • Providing resource lists of where members can get assistance with security deposits, first and last months rent, and utility bills.

EDUCATION SERVICES:

(3rd Floor)

Center Club tries to encourage members to continue with, or pursue their education.  We do this in a variety of ways.  The backbone of our education work is the dedication of Center Club members who tutor other members.  Member tutors are available at scheduled time slots during the week, or by appointment.

For information about current tutors, please contact Center Club’s Education Coordinator at 617-788-1004, or visit the Education Room on the third floor.

MAIN FOCUS:

  • (GED) preparation, computer literacy, English for Speakers of Other Languages, and Adult Basic Education topics

  • Connections to disability offices at local  colleges

  • Assistance accessing funding for school

  • ESOL programming on-site and referrals to programming in the community

  • Regular presentations from local education programs in the community.
